Sainik Rest Houses

  • Support to States/UTs towards construction of Sainik Rest Houses

    Introduction:

    The Ex-Servicemen community including the Ex servicemen, their widows and dependents are often required to visit their respective Zila Sainik Board/ Rajya Sainik Board for various purposes such as resettlement issues, medical treatment, legal, pension, availing canteen facilities, etc and other important town/cities for medical treatment or pilgrimage/sightseeing, etc. It is during these times, they need a decent and affordable accommodation to stay for a short duration at these locations. For this purpose, a large number of Sainik Rest houses are constructed at various places throughout the country. The land is provided free of cost by the State Government/UT and its maintenance is the responsibility of the respective State Govt/UT. These Rest Houses are being maintained by the concerned Rajya/ Zila Sainik Boards. Government of India shares 50% of the cost of construction of Sainik Rest Houses as per the laid down Standard Operating Procedure. In addition to Sainik Rest Houses at respective State, one Central Sainik Rest House has been built on the Defence Land at an estimated cost of Rs 8 crore at Naraina, New Delhi, which is maintained by the MoD through the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) to meet the need for a decent accommodation at a subsidised rate for the ESMs visiting the national capital.

    Booking Procedure of Accommodation at CSRH, Naraina, NewDelhi :

    Request for reservation of accommodation will be accepted maximum 15 days in advance. Booking for the serving Officers/JCOs/ORs will be accepted maximum one day prior to their arrival. Booking of accommodation will be accepted on phone No 011-25777049 between 1030 hours to 1730 hours on all working days. Notice of at least 24 hours for cancellation of reservation from the date of booking be given to avoid inconvenience to other ESM. With prior approval of OIC, all walk-in guests will be accommodated, if accommodation is available. The rooms/dormitory will be allotted on first come first served basis in the following priority and no accommodation will be kept as reserved
    for any category:-

    (a) ESM and their dependents.
    (b) Ex-Servicemen, personnel who come to Delhi for re-settlement courses.
    (c) Serving personnel of the Defence forces and their families/civil personnel, if vacancy exists.

    Present Status :
